Assessments

In addition to RAD Ballet exams and IDTA vocational level Theatre exams (Modern-jazz, Theatre Craft and Tap) we also assess our students annually in-house. The students are assessed using the ‘triple award’ framework which includes the Modern-Jazz, Theatre Craft and Tap disciplines.

Students are assessed in small groups and marked by a panel of 3 teachers- their class teacher, an additional teacher and the Principal. Parents are also invited to watch which is unique in an examination environment.

The students class work feeds into their assessment mark- this process helps gain the very best from all of our students, from those who thrive in exam conditions to those whose nerves may get the better of them. All students who take part receive comprehensive written feedback and targets, alongside their certificate and award.

Students, parents and teachers all thoroughly enjoy the process and we find it complements the RAD and IDTA examinations system very well.
